Rules and Regulations

Ø     Daily check Notice-Board and website- www.fascmits.ac.in for any updates/circulars/notices and general information.

Ø   Ragging: Ragging is a criminal offence and is strictly prohibited in and around the campus of Mody Institute of Technology & Science. The Institute will take disciplinary action including expulsion from the Institute and/or initiate legal proceedings as per UGC Regulations (www.ugc.ac.in)  and directives of the Supreme Court of India (vide order of May 2007), if any student/group of students is found indulging in any act of ragging.

Ø   Academic calendar: available on website, strictly to be followed.

Ø   Dress Code

Formal Dress: Black Parallel Trouser, full sleeved white shirt, black blazer, black tie white socks and black shoes from Monday to Friday.

Normal Dress: Salwar Kamej (with sleeves) and Dupatta or Saree, Blouse (with Sleeves), Shoes / Sandals.

Ø   Identity Cards: Students are required to carry their identity card at all walks. In case of loss of ID card—temporary or Smart Card, a fine of Rs 200/- will be charged for duplicate one.

Ø   Entry of private vehicle: Private vehicles are allowed only on the day of joining and official vacations.

Ø   Proficiency: is an essential part of course structure; students are advised to enroll for one of the proficiency options and  be regular for the same. It is for the overall development of personality.

Ø   Student securing highest CGPA in last semester will be the Class Representative.

Ø   Hostel Discipline:

(i)All inmates are required to maintain hostel rules and regulations very            strictly.

(ii)Day Scholars are not allowed in the hostels. A fine of Rs. 200/- will   be charged alongwith strict disciplinary action will be taken against the day scholars and boarder to whom she has come to meet.

(iii)All parties or celebrations in the hostel should be over latest by 10:30 pm under no circumstances it shall be extended.

(iv)Boarders are advised to be in their own room by 9:30 pm and be          physically present for attendance

 (v)Cooking of any sort is not allowed in the hostel.

(vi)Heaters/Blowers/Hotplates etc. are strictly prohibited.

(vii)Outing other than vacations will be allowed only on emergency   basis with due permission of parents in writing.

Ø   Fee: Fee to be deposited on or before the due date. A fine of Rs. 25/- per day will be charged otherwise.

Examinations

Continuous Evaluation System

Ø  The academic programmes are based on semester system: Autumn and Spring Semesters in a year.

Ø  A student is evaluated for her academic performance in a course through tutorials, practicals, home work assignments, seminars, tests, Mid Term Examination (MTE), and End Term Examination (ETE). For further details visit http://www.fascmits.ac.in.

Ø   Test will be conducted any day without prior announcement. Test will not be repeated.

Ø   Minimum 40% marks in a course are required to award a pass grade ‘D’.

Ø   A student must have a minimum attendance of seventy five percent (75 %) of the total number of theory (lectures plus tutorials) and Laboratories (Practical) classes held in a subject in order to be eligible to appear in the End Term Examination for that course.

Ø   For mass abstention from a class, a fine of 1 marks for all the students of that course plus a penalty of Rs. 100/- on each student. The maximum fine for a day would be limited to 2 marks.

Ø   If a student is absent during End Term Examination of a course due to medical reasons (supported by a Medical Certificate by the Institute’s Medical Officer or by a Medical Officer of the rank not lower than Deputy Chief Medical Officer) or other special circumstances, she may apply for the award of ‘I’ grade and request for a second examination to the Dean, through the Course Teacher, provided that she has attended 75% of the classes held.

Ø   The ‘I’ grade shall be converted into a proper letter grade not exceeding B+ and shall be sent to the Registrar within 10 days from the date on which the End-Term examination is over and the requirements of the course are completed by the student.

Ø   In case a student is found adopting or suspected of adopting unfair means before, during or after the examination, penal action shall be taken by the Institute as may be necessary to uphold the sanctity and integrity of the examination system and the credibility of the Institute.

Ø   For Award of Degree a minimum CGPA of 4.50 for Under Graduate Programmes and 5.0 for Post Graduate Programmes is required.

Ø   Student detained for shortage of attendance shall be awarded F Grade, where E and F grades are fail grades.

Ø   The results of Mid Term Examination will be sent to guardian of the student.
